The Government of Andhra Pradesh has accorded administrative approval for Rs. 548.32 Crores to raise and widen the Godavari Flood Banks to 1986 standards, along with necessary repairs and construction of new structures. This decision follows recommendations from an Expert Committee and aims to improve the flood management infrastructure over a length of 409.70 Kms. The funds will be allocated within the overall budget of the Irrigation Department for the current and next fiscal year.
