About this document
Understanding ECM and EMM Messages by Manisha Dubey is a document available to read on EtoBox.
An ECM (Entitlement Control Message) is an encrypted message sent to receivers that contains a scrambled control word to decrypt content. The ECM allows receivers to determine if a user is authorized to access certain content. An EMM (Entitlement Management Message) contains private information sent to receivers to indicate what content a user is authorized to access based on their subscription. Together, ECMs and EMMs allow conditional access systems to securely deliver content only to authorized users.
