Del Castillo Elementary is off to a great start for the 2018-2019 school year. This year the school will continue three initiatives: the 2nd Grade VELLO-United Way Reading Program, the PRK HEB 3 READ program in partnership with UTRGV, and the Cowboyville Minitropolis partnership with IBC bank. The reading programs aim to promote literacy while the Minitropolis program allows 5th grade students to operate a simulated bank to promote financial responsibility and career readiness.
