This study examined the psychometric properties of a revised 16-item version of the Caring Behaviors Inventory-24 (CBI-24) through a validation study with 303 hospitalized adult patients. A principal components analysis reduced the original 42-item CBI to a single factor solution explaining 58.01% of the variance.
