What is Data Handling in PLCs: Instructions Guide about?

Data can be stored in registers as binary words of bits. A 4-bit register can store numbers from 0 to 15, an 8-bit register from 0 to 255, and a 16-bit register from 0 to 65535. Data handling instructions allow data to be moved from one memory location to another, compared, and arithmetic operations to be performed. If a result is too large for the memory location, such as greater than 65535 for a 16-bit register, an overflow occurs.
