Abigail Adams was born in 1744 and was both the wife and mother of two American presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams. She is famous for the letters she wrote to her husband John Adams while he was working in Philadelphia, which provide a firsthand account of political life during the Revolutionary War era. Abigail Adams was also the first First Lady to live in the White House after it became the official residence in 1800.
