What is AISI 01 Tool Steel Properties and Uses about?
Virat Special Steels produces the tool steel equivalent to DIN 2510 and AISI 01. This oil-hardening tool steel has good cutting edge retention, high hardenability, and dimensional stability during heat treatment. It can be used for blanking and stamping dies up to 6 mm thickness, threading tools, drills, broaches, gauges, and plastic molds. The steel is softened at 750-780°C, hardened at 780-820°C by quenching in oil or salt bath, and tempered to achieve the desired hardness between 53.5-65 HRC.
