This document summarizes a cross-sectional study conducted in Ethiopia to determine the prevalence and identify species of hard ticks infesting cattle in Goro Gutu woreda. A total of 384 cattle were examined from November 2017 to March 2018, of which 82.81% were infested with ticks. Five tick species were identified: Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) decoloratus (36.88%), Amblyomma variegatum (21.25%), Hyalomma marginatum rufipes (17.72%), Amblyomma cohaerens (13.90%) and Amblyomma gemma (10.25%).
