What is The English Dreamers. (A Collections of Pre-Raphaelite Paintings.) Edited by David Larkin about?

Many of the artists presented in this volume were closely associated with the literary and dramatic events happening in Victorian England; nearly every painting is an illustration of a moment in some literary work, whether a poem, a novel, or a play. The Pre-Raphaelites and later dream painters fused these events with a delicate balance between reality and illusion with super clarity of technique and colour. Bibliographical note: The strapline on the cover, 'A Collection of Pre-Raphaelite Paintings', is not carried through to the title page.
