Annasaheb Udagavi, a farmer from Karnataka, India, invented an affordable and effective sprinkler irrigation system to irrigate his crops. He developed the design after studying conventional sprinkler systems to suit the needs of sugarcane farming. His sprinkler, called the Chandraprabha Raingun, can irrigate 1 acre of land in just 1.5 hours using less water than other systems.
