What is Tributaries of the Inferior Vena Cava about?

The inferior vena cava is the largest vein in the body. It transports blood from the lower limbs and abdomen to the right atrium of the heart. It is formed by the union of the common iliac veins at the level of the L5 vertebrae. The inferior vena cava receives blood from 6 pairs of lumbar veins, 2 singular veins (the right gonadal vein and right suprarenal vein), a pair of renal veins, a pair of inferior phrenic veins, and the hepatic veins from the liver.
