A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck Azad Kashmir, Pakistan on September 24, 2019, with its epicenter near the city of Mirpur. It caused severe damage in Mirpur District, resulting in 40 deaths and injuring over 850 people. The tremors were felt over a wide region from Kashmir to parts of northern India.
