About this document
Preoperative Renal Artery Embolization in RCC by Ronald Joy Datu is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the efficacy of preoperative renal artery embolization (PRAE) before radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The study found that while PRAE significantly reduces blood loss during surgery, it does not have a statistically significant impact on transfusion rates, surgical time, or length of hospital and ICU stays. The necessity of PRAE remains debated, particularly for complex renal masses with extensive local invasion.
