The document is a report on cryptocurrency crime trends in 2022. It finds that the total value received by illicit cryptocurrency addresses hit a new high of $14 billion in 2021, up 79% from 2020. However, illicit transactions represented only 0.15% of total cryptocurrency transaction volume, nearly an order of magnitude lower than in previous years. Two crime categories that grew substantially were stolen funds (up 516%) and scams (up 82%), largely due to vulnerabilities in decentralized finance protocols
