What is FIFO Process Costing Explained about?

Under the FIFO costing method, units from beginning work in process are assumed to be completed first before any new units are started. Equivalent units are calculated separately for units from beginning work in process, units started and completed this period, and units remaining in ending work in process. Cost per equivalent unit is calculated using only costs added during the current period. Costs are then assigned to completed units and ending work in process units based on the relevant equivalent unit
