What is Nobel Peace Prize: Alfred Nobel about?

Alfred Nobel made his fortune by inventing dynamite. When he saw his invention being used to kill thousands in war, he was saddened. He decided to establish the Nobel Prizes to honor those who promote peace. The prizes have recognized leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and Mother Teresa for their peace work. Nobel wanted to ensure his legacy promoted good in society rather than being known as the inventor of a destructive weapon.
