The Hispano-Moresque style was an Islamic pottery style that continued under Christian rule in Spain, blending Islamic and European elements. It was the most elaborate European pottery until the 15th century, produced mainly in Malaga and Valencia. The style introduced tin-glazing and lustre techniques to Europe, applying paint over glaze and firing again to produce iridescent effects, as was common in Islamic pottery.
