What is Acute Myeloid Leukemia Case Study about?
Leukemia is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow that results in an abnormal increase of immature white blood cells. There are two main types - chronic leukemia, which develops slowly, and acute leukemia, which progresses rapidly. Leukemia occurs when stem cells in the bone marrow develop mutations that cause them to improperly mature into white blood cells. This leads to a buildup of abnormal white blood cells that crowd out normal cells in the bone marrow and blood.
