Importance of Air Refueling Operations by Testor Nestor B is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The "Question Mark" flight in 1929 demonstrated the potential of air refueling and helped develop the capability within the US Army Air Corps. A Fokker C-2 aircraft called the Question Mark stayed aloft for over 150 hours through 43 mid-air refuelings from two Douglas C-1 transports that were modified to be tankers. This pioneering flight helped prove that air refueling could enable aircraft to stay airborne indefinitely and significantly increase their range and endurance.
