About this document
Prokaryotes vs. Eukaryotes Overview by Amit Godara is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells share some basic similarities like DNA, cell membranes, and ribosomes. However, eukaryotic cells have a membrane-bound nucleus and organelles while prokaryotic cells do not. Eukaryotic DNA is contained in chromosomes within the nucleus, while prokaryotic DNA is circular and not organized into chromosomes. The increased complexity of eukaryotic cells is thought to have evolved from simpler prokaryotic cells.
