This study analyzes the media framing of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement, identifying six marginalization devices used by The New York Times and USA Today. The findings indicate that lawlessness, official sources, show, and ineffective goals are prevalent in the coverage, contributing to a predominantly negative tone towards the protests. Overall, five of the six framing devices account for 65.5% of the variability in the tone of the media coverage.
