What is Hegel And Heidegger. On Phenomenological Dialectics And Hermeneutical Phenomenology about?

Hegel's decision to change the title of his first major work from Wissenschaft der Erfahrung des Bewußtseins to Wissenschaft der Phänomenologie des Geistes and, finally, to Die Phänomenologie des Geistes is well known, and it opens up many possibilities for understanding the concept of phenomenology. I aim to show (1) that the comparative interpretation of Hegel's phenomenological dialectics and Heidegger's hermeneutical phenomenology is directed to (2) the general interrogation of similarities and differences between dialectical and hermeneutical thinking. Doing this involves both (1) an adequate interpretation (correct and reproductive -semantically proper -as well as coherent and complete) and (2) a constructive (effective, productive and open) interpretation. ## Two Concepts of Phenomenology Investigating these two complex and pivotal concepts of phenomenology demands the reconstruction of their constituent terms and the derivation of their meaning. Thus, an adequate interpretation must proceed through three steps, separately addressing the terms themselves and then examining their unity. A. The Meaning of Phenomenon
