About this document
RSV Infections and Cystic Fibrosis by Matthaios is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates the frequency and impact of viral respiratory tract infections (RTIs) in young children with cystic fibrosis (CF) under two years old. Over the course of a year, 25 children experienced an average of 3.4 RTIs annually, predominantly caused by rhinovirus and enterovirus, with most infections being mild and rarely requiring hospitalization. The findings suggest that RSV-related morbidity is low in this population, raising questions about the necessity of preventive treatments for RSV.
