What is Slocum and the Widow Kate (Slocum #3) about?

SLOCUM KNEW IT WAS WRONG FROM THE BEGINNING....As soon as the sheriff in Hidalgo locked him up on that trumped-up charge and threatened to put him on that chain gang. Slocum knew it was wrong. And then the sheriff made him that crazy offer-his freedom plus $100 cash-all for driving a gorgeous widow from Texas to Wichita. That deal stank, too. Trusting a beautiful lady to a reckless drifter didn't add up.And then the battles and violence on the prairie, outlaws and renegades by day, and by night the trusting arms of the voluptuous young woman. It was crazy. Why had they done it? The cunning, conniving sheriff and the gorgeous widow Kate-what did they want from Slocum?
