A previously healthy 4-year-old boy presented with acute rhabdomyolysis and was found to have transverse myelitis associated with Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection based on clinical evaluation and tests. He received IV immunoglobulin treatment and his rhabdomyolysis resolved without complications, but neurologic sequelae persisted after 2 years of follow-up. Evaluation for M. pneumoniae infection is recommended in patients with idiopathic rhabdomyolysis or transverse myelitis even without preceding respirator
