Ramadan is a holy month in the Islamic calendar when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and abstain from certain acts. It is one of the five pillars of Islam. The children at An-Nur Child-Care Centre learned about the phases of the moon and used telescopes to sight the new moon signaling the start of Ramadan. During Ramadan, the children participated in special activities to learn about the importance of good habits and morality as Muslims. They memorized Quranic verses and portions and some children won awards
