This study analyzed the use of misoprostol for labor induction in 171 pregnancies with intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) at a Brazilian teaching hospital. Misoprostol was administered alone in 9.3% of cases, with oxytocin in 19.9%, and oxytocin alone in 70.8%, showing high rates of vaginal delivery and a mean induction-delivery interval of 15.4 hours. The findings support the effectiveness of misoprostol in managing IUFD pregnancies under routine public health conditions in Brazil.
