I wrote my book with the emphasis on the victories we have been privileged to witness, rather than the heart ache that inevitably goes with rescuing senior and special-needs dogs. The book also educates the public about the inherent value of these most precious of God's creatures. About the Author My husband and I began to rescue Dachshunds in 2001. We soon discovered that the seniors and special needs dogs were difficult for most rescues because they are a challenge to re-home. So that is what we specialize in. We provide a loving, safe environment for these dogs to live out their lives.
