What is Alle radici dell'odio : Preziosi e Benigni antisemiti about?

Analyzes the personal, ideological, and religious motivations of two relentless supporters of Italian antisemitism before the promulgation of the racial laws in 1938, Giovanni Preziosi (1881-1945) and Mons. Umberto Benigni (1862-1934). Chs. 1-4 (pp. 11-102) deal with Preziosi, who published the Italian version of the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" in 1921 and was known mainly for his bitter antisemitic campaign between 1938-45. Benigni published an Italian version of the "Protocols" as well and directed a scathing anti-Jewish polemic throughout his life, in journals and various writings. Concludes that antisemitism in Italy, although not widespread, existed before fascist propaganda and was not only an imitation of Hitler's antisemitic policy.
