What is Advanced Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring about?

This thesis examines the design and development of an advanced non-intrusive load monitoring system. The document outlines various non-intrusive load monitoring algorithms and categorizes them based on the data frequency used. It also discusses supervised and unsupervised methods. The document then focuses on applying a hidden Markov model and Viterbi algorithm on steady state data, including training the model without submetered appliance data. Results are presented showing the performance of the algorithm
