What is Sludge Dewatering Process Overview about?

Dewatering of sludge involves removing water from sludge using centrifugation to reduce costs of transportation and landfill space. At the Johns Creek Environmental Campus, sludge is fed into three centrifuges that spin at high speeds to separate the sludge into a dense cake and liquid waste. The liquid is recycled for treatment and the dewatered sludge cake is collected and sent to the landfill. A polymer is added to improve the separation and liquid quality.
