This systematic review and network meta-analysis evaluated the longevity of various conventional restorative materials for posterior primary teeth, focusing on randomized clinical trials. The findings indicated that conventional glass ionomer cement has a higher risk of failure compared to compomer, resin-modified glass ionomer cement, amalgam, and composite resin. Pediatric dentists are advised to avoid using conventional glass ionomer cement for restoring primary molars.
