What is TFPI-α about?

TFPI-α is an inhibitor of tissue factor and factor Xa that suppresses coagulation. This study investigated how TFPI-α regulates fibrin clot formation under flow at low shear rates. The authors found that for healthy blood or plasma, blocking TFPI-α only enhanced fibrin formation extending from platelet thrombi at very low levels of coated tissue factor (<2pM).
