Our experiment was to observe the order of the saponification reaction between ethyl acetate and sodium hydroxide using a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) and to determine the rate constant. We took samples from the reactor at various time intervals, quenched the reactions, and titrated to determine the amount of sodium hydroxide that had reacted.
