What is Characterization of nanocrystalline porous SiC powder by electrospinning and carbothermal reduction about?
Silicon carbide (SiC) is a promising material for various applications in aerospace, car, nuclear and electronic industry. This useful material has superior mechanical strength, high radiation resistance, high optical transmittance, thermal stability, chemical stability and high oxidation resistance. Specially, porous silicon carbide (SiC) have played an important role in many fields of energy production and environmental protection such as hydrogen selective membrane supports, diesel particulate filters, slurry reuse after polishing and water purification, because of their low thermal-expansion coefficient, oxidation resistance and good thermal-shock resistance as well as excellent mechanical and chemical stability at elevated temperatures [1-3]. On these applications, fine crystallite size and particle size become important factors in controlling the microstructures, since the fine crystallite and particle have large surface energy and mass transfer [1]. Electrospinning method is a good and simple one to produce micro-bead structure, bead-on-string structure and fiber structure by using electrostatically high force (over 15 kV) and an electric field between two electrodes, by app
