What is La Llorona: The Weeping Woman about?

The story follows Maria, a poor woman in Mexico who falls in love with a wealthy man and has two sons. After her husband leaves her for another woman, Maria tragically drowns her children in despair and later takes her own life, becoming La Llorona, the Weeping Woman, who wanders rivers searching for her lost children. This tale serves as a cautionary story for children to stay away from rivers at night.
