Temperatures extracted with the family of He, He isotope ratio thermometers, T , have been studied and He Ž 4 ) . 4 cross-checked with temperatures, T He constructed from excited and ground state populations of He. Empirical correction factors provide baseline corrections for sequential decay effects for T -4.5 MeV, independent of projectile, He target and incident energies. After corrections for fluctuations due to sequential decay, statistical calculations predict that T He Ž 4 ) . and T He should agree.
