Yy1 is essential for postnatal development of Purkinje cells (PCs) in the cerebellum, as its conditional knockout leads to reduced dendritic growth and motor deficits without affecting PC density. The study reveals that Yy1 regulates Wnt10b expression, implicating the WNT/β-catenin signaling pathway in the observed phenotypes. Additionally, Yy1 cKO mutants exhibit altered microtubule and microfilament protein expression and show abnormal electrophysiological properties.
