The Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria (CEFN) was established on September 21, 1982, following the arrival of British missionaries in Igala land in 1919. The church faced internal conflicts and legal disputes with the Christian Mission in Many Lands (CMML) from 1985 to 1996, resulting in the loss of numerous local assemblies and institutions. By the end of 2011, CEFN had grown to over 390 local assemblies and operated multiple educational institutions across Nigeria.
