Blade cracks were found during a visual inspection of the ID fan 2B impeller for a 1200MW combined cycle power plant unit. Cracks were discovered in the welds of blades 6, 13, 11, and 5. Pin holes and spatters were also seen on the weld of blade 8. Dye penetrant testing was subsequently performed to check for additional cracks.
