This morning, a discharge of liquids was observed from a diverter valve on the drillship Discoverer Enterprise stationed at the MC252 wellsite. As a precaution, the lower marine riser package (LMRP) containment cap attached to the Discoverer Enterprise was moved off the failed blow-out preventer (BOP) on the Deepwater Horizon to ensure safety and allow analysis of the unexpected liquid release.
