This review assesses the risk of immuno-allergic reactions to antibiotic residues, particularly fl-lactams and macrolides, in food products. It concludes that the likelihood of sensitization from such residues is low due to their minimal levels compared to therapeutic doses, and no significant evidence links these residues to allergic reactions in humans. While rare cases of allergic reactions to penicillin residues have been reported, the overall risk remains negligible, and macrolides are considered safe
