What is Fasciculations in ALS vs. Benign Syndrome about?
This study analyzed fasciculation potentials recorded from muscles of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and those with benign fasciculation syndrome (BFS). Fasciculations in ALS had shorter durations and more turns than in BFS, and firing rates were higher in ALS, especially with more severe weakness. Both conditions showed evidence of multifocal distal generation and conduction block/variability. Double fasciculations occurred in both, suggesting interactions between motor units. Fasciculat
