What is Use of Repositories of Digital Educational Resources in Higher Education about?

Repositories of digital educational resources have reached a significant level of development and diversification in the last decade, to the point of becoming a central component in higher education transformation. Millions of educational resources are available at local and global levels, in repositories and content aggregators. The processes of content creation, publishing and distribution have been modified in their patterns and increased their potential and impact. The educational material produced in many different contexts can improve the conditions of teaching and learning, helping to expand equitable access to relevant sources of knowledge and Higher Education. This paper presents a research project which seeks to know which are the dimensions of the adoption of repositories of educational resources by scholars from Latin America; how this adoption overlaps in teaching practices and which subjective, contextual, institutional, curricular and instructional factors are involved in the different types of use.
