Harvard University was founded in 1636 in Cambridge, Massachusetts by John Harvard. It was originally called New College before being renamed Harvard in 1639. Henry Dunster was the first president of Harvard. Some notable US presidents who graduated from Harvard include John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. Harvard consists of 13 schools and allows students to choose from over 50 majors.
