This study investigated the association between increased levels of Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteria and ischemic or hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease in humans. The study found that stroke patients had worse periodontal conditions including deeper pockets, more attachment loss, and increased bleeding and plaque.
