What is Optimized Neighbor Discovery for 6LoWPAN about?

This paper presents the implementation and performance evaluation of the optimized Neighbor Discovery (ND) protocol as specified in RFC 6775 for 6LoWPANs. The study demonstrates that the optimized ND significantly reduces the number of exchanged control messages by up to 70% compared to the basic RFC 4861 ND, while also improving delivery ratios and power efficiency. The findings highlight the advantages of the optimized protocol in low-power, lossy network environments, making it more suitable for IoT appl
