A 62-year-old male was diagnosed with pemphigus foliaceus in 2001 based on a biopsy of a painless vesicle on his back. Low doses of steroids and immunosuppressants did not control his spreading lesions. Higher steroid doses initially helped but he later developed infected bullae and skin exfoliation on his legs, which were treated with antibiotics and dressings.
