This study compared 3 techniques for diagnosing laryngeal paralysis in dogs: echolaryngography (EL), transnasal laryngoscopy (TNL), and laryngoscopy per os (LPO). EL was performed on awake dogs but did not allow for direct observation of laryngeal movement. TNL and LPO involved sedating dogs and using an endoscope to directly view the larynx.
