Tipaimukh is located in southwestern Manipur bordering Mizoram. It is one of six tribal development blocks of Churachandpur district. Tipaimukh has 55 villages with a population of around 24,000 people and over 13,000 registered voters. The indigenous name of Tipaimukh is Ruonglevaisuo, which means the confluence of the Tuivai and Barak rivers.
